Detailed Program

Day 1 – Welcome to Havana

Private transfer to your accommodation from Havana airport (free) or Varadero.

Freshen up and get comfortable.

Meet your local guide who will assist you for the duration of your tour.

In the afternoon or early evening you will start the 3 hours Havana private tour in a classic car.

You can choose between a classic convertible or a classic air conditioned sedan.

During this tour you will visit all the most important touristic spots in Havana such as Miramar, the 5th Avenue & its colonial mansions, the Havana Forest, Vedado & Nuevo Vedado, the Revolution Square, the Colon Cemetery , the University of Havana, The Hotel Nacional, the Callejon de Hamel alley, China Town, the Central Park, the Paseo del Prado, the “Malecon”, the Havana Bay, the Morro Fortress and the Havana Christ.

At the end of this tour you can freshen up and have a quick dinner before attending the ” cañonazo ceremony” which takes place each night at the Fortaleza de San Carlos de la Cabaña, an 18th-century fortress on Havana’s harbor.

The cañonazo’ itself is the firing of a cannon over the bay at exactly 9.00 pm , but leading up to it is a really interesting ceremony featuring actors dressed in 18th century military garb.

Finally you will be dropped off at your accommodation unless you would like to be dropped off somewhere else like a live music bar or a nightclub.

Day 2 – Exploring Havana

After your breakfast you will be picked up by your guide to have first an optional cigar factory tour, otherwise you will go directly to visit Fusterlandia, a small community on the west side of Havana, though the neighborhood’s actual name is Jaimanitas. The entire district is decorated with murals, ceramic mosaics, and colorful quirky sculptures.

Then you will visit the fisherman village of Cojimar, which inspired Hemingway‘s best seller ” The old man and the sea “, where you can see the memorial built in his honor and, if you want, you can have a lunch at “La Terraza restaurant“, Hemingway’s favorite place for lobsters.

Then you will be taken to Finca Vigia, his country home in Cuba, where he spent twenty-one of his most productive years becoming a titan of English literature. His house remains just as it was when lived in it.

You’ll see his eclectic personal objects, thousands of books, manuscripts, and photographs, as well as some animal trophies, bagged on his frequent safaris.

On your way back to Havana, if you want, you can have a stop at the Craft market, and the have your lunch or some free time to relax before starting the Old Havana walking tour.

Old Havana has been designated a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1982. Remodeling is occurring slowly, so while some buildings are excellently restored to their original glory, others have taken on their own look by being left to age naturally, virtually neglected since the Revolution triumphed more than 50 years ago.

During this tour, your guide will take you around through the historic center where you can admire the Capitol, the Parque Central, the Bacardi Building, the Great Havana Theatre, Obispo street & El Floridita Bar, the Ambus Mundos Hotel, the Plaza de Armas, the Plaza de la Catedral & la Bodeguita del Medio, the Plaza San Francisco de Asis, the Plaza Vieja and many other interesting sites.

He will provide you detailed explanations about the sites you are visiting as well as many useful tips about other things you may want to do during your stay in Havana.

You’ll also have time to enjoy one of the world famous cocktails such as the Cuba Libre, the Daiquiri or the Mojito in one of the bars you will visit.

At the end of the walking tour you will be dropped off at your accommodation.

Free time for dinner & nightlife.

This could be the ideal evening to attend a show.

If you would like to go to the Buenavista Social Club , Tropicana or to the Cabaret Parisienne show, you should buy your tickets ahead of time.

Day 3 – Goodbye Havana

You have free time to explore anything else on your own before leaving to the airport and say goodbye to Havana.
